We Have Our Winners
Our blog has been a little quiet over the last two weeks as we’ve all eased our way back into the daily grind of flying remote control helicopters round the office, making bets who would win between Edna and Dorris whilst thinking up new ways to to tease the office dinosaur…. yes its a tough life we live indeed.
So now we’re back into the swing of things, some of you will remember we launched a little competition to take the affiliates who impressed us the most over the Christmas period on a Snowboarding Holiday to Whistler in Canada.
We had some absolutely fantastic entries and I would like to thank everybody who took the time to contact us with their shameless self promotion, it was great to get into the deeper depths of how our affiliates promoted us and I was personally extremely impressed with the amount of time and dedication our affiliates spend working on our program. It also gave me a deeper insight into the complexities and some of the difficulties our affiliates have to overcome which will only help to improve the campaign going forward.
Anyway I’ve rambled on enough and I’m sure if your still reading you just want to know who won, so congratulations to Joe, Richard, Harvey, Ian and Jamie.
I’d love to go into the detail of our winning affiliates and share what exactly they did to warrant joining us on our trip, however I also realize that they might well not want me sharing this information publically so you’ll all just have to take my word that they were absolutely fantastic!
The truth is myself and Julian haven’t spent all of the last two weeks just playing with toys, we’ve been busy contacting our winners (who were of course all very pleased), arranging flights, hotels, transfers and spending 8 hours a day surfing the Whistler website looking at all the fantastic things we can do whilst we’re there.
On the 23rd February myself, Julian, our lovely Affiliate Window account manager Julie Wood and our winning affiliates will be setting off to spend 6 nights at the Pinnacle Hotel in Whistler.
The flights aren’t as lengthy as we thought they were going to be at 8 hours, however looking at the winter activities they are promoting on the Whistler website - it will indeed be worth it.
To name a few:
- Ski/Snowboarding School
- Heli Skiing/Boarding
- Tube Park
- Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides
- Blackcomb Helicopter Tours
- Snowcat Skiing & Snowboarding
- Dog Sledding
I personally have my eye on the Whistler Bungee, described as “Whistlers ULTIMATE Adrenaline Rush”, however I’m not sure how many of our group will be joining me and I’m sure Julie might have something to say about it!
I’m not actually sure who is the more excited, me and Julian or the winning affiliates. I was bitten by the snowboarding bug at a young age and Julian spent his Christmas in Austria learning how to snowboard (I actually think he only went so he could look good on this trip and not continually fall over) so the last few days we’ve simply spent daydreaming about how good it is going to be and now neither of us can wait to get on the snow again!
On the flip side and the other reason this blog hasn’t been updated for a while, our new recruit Rich unfortunately won’t be joining us on this trip as we do need someone to stay behind and man the office… he is as I’m typing staging a protest and refuses to do any work until we relent and let him come.
So once again thanks to everyone who entered, congratulations to our winners and look out for the photos upon our return… if we make it back in one piece that is!
