Our Managing Director being the canny guy he is recently noticed a competition within the affiliate industry designed to drive sales for Christmas, the result, he’s demanding we take our affiliates on holiday to incentivise you.

Never one to turn down a free lunch, or holiday for that fact, our online marketing department (that’s myself and Julian for those not in the know) have decided to take 5 of our affiliates with us on a Ski/Snowboarding holiday to Whistler, Canada.

Being let loose with the company credit card is quite an interesting, if nonetheless risky move by our MD and as such we’ve got a week of solid adventure planned out including:

- Ski/Snowboarding School - Heli Skiing/Boarding - Tube Park - Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides - Blackcomb Helicopter Tours - Snowcat Skiing & Snowboarding - Dog Sledding

We have thought long and hard about the best way to structure this competition with the aim being to make it as fair as possible to all affiliates, old and new.

Therefore we are offering the opportunity for every affiliate to win one of 5 places on our ski/snowboarding holiday to each affiliate that complies with the following:

1. Tells us you want to come. If you want to come with us on our ski/snowboarding holiday, email me your Affiliate Window ID at paul.smith@iwantoneofthose.com and tell me so.

2. Impress us. I feel Affiliate competitions are maybe a little too bias to the people who manage to generate the most revenues. I’m not naïve; I understand this is the fundamental goal of affiliate marketing however I’m keen to create a level playing field for all and encourage creativity and innovation.

We’ll do our best to keep an eye on what all our affiliates are doing, but don’t hesitate to contact me and tell me what your up to! Shameless self promotion is welcomed, if we don’t see it, we can’t judge it!

Paul, that is fine, but just what are we talking about here?

Something that touched me quite recently in affiliate marketing was just how much our affiliates do push the boundaries in what they do. This is important to not only the development of IWOOT, but to affiliate marketing industry on the whole and we would like to reward this.

So here are some of our suggestions:

- Banners: A lot of our affiliates design their own creative that fits within the genre of their website. Don’t be shy in doing this; show us you’ve done it!

For extra brownie points, offer the use of the banners to our other affiliates.

- Videos: We have a lot of videos available and would love our affiliates to make use of them: www.youtube.com/profile_videos?p=r&user=IWOOTMovies

For extra brownie points, create your own videos and let us see them.

- Emails: We regularly make emails available for our affiliates to send to their databases. If you send one of these, tell us your doing so.

However you choose to promote IWOOT this Christmas be sure to tell us about it, remember if we don’t see it, we can’t judge it! We’ll choose the best five affiliates who quite frankly, have impressed us the most and want to come with us. We are of course impressed with revenues, so PPC affiliates be sure to enter too!
